If you’re reading this, welcome — you’ve found Pearland Talks, a new home base for everything happening in Pearland, Silverlake, and Manvel.
Here’s the idea behind this site. Between the three of us running errands, coaching Little League, and showing up to Pearland ISD board meetings, we noticed the same gap over and over: there’s no single place to find what’s actually going on around here. Event info is scattered across a dozen Facebook groups. The city’s calendar doesn’t talk to the Chamber’s calendar, which doesn’t talk to the neighborhood Nextdoor threads. And if you’re new to the area — or just new to a neighborhood within it — there’s no easy way to find the local businesses worth knowing, the parks worth visiting, or the schools worth asking about.
So we’re building that place.
What you’ll find here
A growing directory of local businesses — restaurants, service providers, shops, and everything in between — searchable by category. A community calendar for events happening around Pearland, Silverlake, and Manvel. And a blog (this one) with neighborhood guides, park roundups, school district information, and the occasional deep dive into what makes this corner of Brazoria County worth calling home.

Who’s behind it
Pearland Talks is put together by the team at Grit Realty, a local real estate group working across Pearland, Houston, and the surrounding area. We spend our days helping people buy, sell, and understand this market — which means we’re already tracking a lot of what’s happening locally. This site is our way of putting that in one place for everyone, not just our clients.
